The Merdeka Celebration 2024 was a great opportunity for KISE students to celebrate the spirit of independence and unity! The students participated in vibrant cultural performances and activities, honoring the nation’s rich history and heritage. It was surely a glimpse into their own future, where they will contribute to the country’s progress with pride and passion.
Throughout the month of August, KISE students engaged in a series of meaningful activities to celebrate Merdeka in their own style. This celebration did not only foster national pride but also instilled valuable lessons about unity, heritage, and responsibility.
The celebration span across three weeks where students and teachers engaged in crafty activities that aimed to encourage their creativity. Some of them included Malaysian-themed colouring posters and egg trays, and making iconic replicas.














Their Merdeka Celebration reached its apex on the 29th of August where KISE students joined Kalam Khalifah Little Caliphs kindergartens for the national parade!
The day began with the singing of “Negaraku” and the state song, reinforcing a sense of national identity and reminding students of the importance of patriotism. The flag-raising ceremony, accompanied by patriotic songs, deepened their respect for national symbols, emphasizing the significance of unity in diversity.
Next, students watched a historical documentary on Malaysia’s journey to independence. This activity enriched their understanding of the nation’s history and the sacrifices made by past generations. The Merdeka Quiz that followed tested their knowledge and encouraged critical thinking about the country’s progress, cultivating a sense of pride in their cultural heritage.
Student-led performances, including poetry recitations, traditional dances, and historical sketches, allowed them to creatively express their love for the country. These performances not only showcased their talents but also helped them connect with Malaysia’s diverse cultural roots.
The day concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, recognizing student achievements, and a final round of patriotic singing, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of unity and belonging. These activities inspired students to carry forward the values of patriotism and dedication, showing them that they have the potential to contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s future.
